Demanding the right to roam from John O’Groats to Tel Rumeida
Our comrade and ex-Sheffield resident, Arwa, took 49 children from the hill of Tel Rumeida down into the Old City to celebrate Caroline Poland’s achievement of her Right to Roam walk Caroline’s walk has been undertaken to show solidarity with those who live under the most repressive situations within Palestine, especially in the West bank, Jerusalem and 
Gaza.

Arwa, to achieve this short walk into Shuhada Street, had to cross two of the most notorious checkpoints where nine people have been killed in the last six months. The excitement of doing this simple walk shows in the children’s faces. Normally they have to stay inside because of the volatile situation.
End to end near the end!
The end to end walk to highlight the imprisonment of Gaza and campiagn for the Right to Roam is near the end!
It is now 12 miles from Duncansby Head.
A number of people have traveled from Sheffield to help complete this journey on Saturday.
In Sheffield, we will be gathering in Meersbrook Park to help celebrate this.

Whose is the crime?
Since 1967, 800,000 Palestinians have been imprisoned by the Israeli authorities. In Sheffield on Saturday a rally in front of the Town Hall was visually helped by use of a wire cage for visual effect. Blindfolded and kneeling, city centre shoppers had to think about more than Topshop.

Right to roam walk 2016 is about to start!
The right to roam walk in 2016 will take Caroline and fellow walkers from Morvich – 50 miles north of Fort William, to John O’Groats. (The full route for the UK 2016 right to roam walk is here)
We are wanting to celebrate the bravery of those who fought for the right to roam , how privileged we are to have that right and how entrapped by occupation and injustice are Palestinians who cannot move from area to area without moving through checkpoints.
The walk will end with simultaneous events right across the UK and in Gaza and the West Bank.

Co-opertiave Bank protest
Last year the Co-opertaive Bank closed Sheffield PSC Bank account and the Scholarship Fund account.
On Saturday, Sheffield PSC supporters make sure that they cannot simply brush this under the carpet and have it forgotten.

Why not join us in the right to roam walk in 2016?
We are raising funds for:
Sheffield Palestine Women’s Scholarship Fund and Children’s Projects in Gaza
We will be starting this leg on April 25th 2016 where we finished last year, at Morvich; and we will be arriving at the end of our Right2Roam Walk, at John-o-Groats, on Saturday 21 May. The full itinerary is here.
Solidarity & fund raising walks along the R2R route (e.g. Bristol & Edale) are being organised for the final day
As in previous years, there will also be a solidarity walk in Gaza, also the same day: we will all be with the people of Palestine in spirit even though they are unable to be with us.
