{"id":48,"date":"2014-12-11T17:31:26","date_gmt":"2014-12-11T17:31:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wpdev.ypce.org.uk\/?page_id=48"},"modified":"2021-06-18T11:22:06","modified_gmt":"2021-06-18T10:22:06","slug":"childrens-projects","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.sheffieldpsc.org.uk\/?page_id=48","title":{"rendered":"Children&#8217;s projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"content\">\n<div class=\"image\">The majority of Sheffield PSC money goes to the childrens&#8217; projects.<\/div>\n<div class=\"image\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p>The idea behind the <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-192\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sheffieldpsc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/ballpool-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"ballpool\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sheffieldpsc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/ballpool-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.sheffieldpsc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/ballpool.jpg 985w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>children&#8217;s projects started back in 1994 when Sheffield PSC received an appeal from the Union of Health Work Committees for support for the children&#8217;s library project which they had started at \u201cAl Asria\u201d children centre in Jabalia Refugee camp. Jabalia is the biggest Palestinian refugee camp anywhere in the Middle East, with 120,000 refugees.<\/p>\n<p>Around the same time, two members from Sheffield PSC and National PSC, Mike Rowson and Musheir El-Farra, visited a few children&#8217;s centres in the Gaza Strip and nominated two other centres to be part of our fundraising activities for children in Palestine. Recently&nbsp;SPSC helped establish a new centre in Khan Younis called the Never Stop Dreaming Children&#8217;s Centre.<\/p>\n<p>We currently support&nbsp;three childrens&#8217; projects<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Afaq Jadeeda\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mecaforpeace.org\/partners\/afaq-jadeeda-association\">Afaq Jadeeda<\/a><br><a title=\"Al Asria\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sheffieldpsc.org.uk\/?page_id=52\">Al Asria<\/a><br>Never Stop Dreaming Centre<\/p>\n<p>each project based in one of the many refugee camps which are found in the Gaza Strip.
