In Britain, as in many countries, people have had to struggle for the\u00a0Right to Roam, the right to walk, to wander across the land.<\/p>\n

In order to raise funds for the Sheffield Palestine\u00a0women’s scholarship fund<\/a>,\u00a0we have planned to walk the length of Britain to remind us of how we have had to struggle for that right to roam and how this lies in a stark contrast to the\u00a0harsh restrictions of movement for all Palestinians and in particular for the\u00a0\u00a01.8m people within the narrow 26 mile of Gaza.<\/p>\n

The walk from 2013 …\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

A rainy day at the start of the Penine Way<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We started\u00a0out on our Right to Roam Walk for Palestine in May 2013, following the\u00a0268 miles of the Pennine Way<\/a> from Edale, over Kinder Scout, the site\u00a0of historic Kinder Trespass, to Kirk Yetholm on the Scottish border.<\/p>\n

We\u00a0continued our walk the following year, walking 275 miles from Land\u2019s\u00a0End to Bristol, and then from Bristol, 285 miles to Edale, to \"Mam<\/a>complete\u00a0the \u2018England\u2019 section of our walk.<\/p>\n

In Spring last year we walked 287\u00a0miles from Kirk Yetholm to Morvich, north of Fort William.<\/p>\n

Plans for 2016<\/span><\/p>\n

In May 2016 we will continue north to complete our End to End Walk for\u00a0Palestine, aiming to reach John-o-Groats on Saturday 21 May.<\/p>\n

If you\u00a0can, do join us along the route, but particularly for the final day or\u00a0two along the coast from Keiss to John-o-Groats.<\/p>\n
