Campaigns
Sheffield PSC are involved in a number of campaigns
Stop Starving the Palestinians
Sign a petition to the Prime Minister: stop withholding funds to the Palestinians. The Palestinian people are being punished for exercising their democratic right to choose their own representatives. The EU, US and Israel have economic blockades which are starving innocent people and withholding funds for much needed medical supplies along with wages for public sector workers such as hospital staff, police and teachers. No public service workers have now (September 2006) been paid for over seven months.

BIG Campaign
Help to build the growing boycott and disinvestment campaign in the country. Make sure you do not buy Israeli products in your local shop or supermarket. Look out for our boycott actions but most importantly, this is a campaign you can get involved in without coming to a single meeting! Make sure you boycott Israeli goods yourself, tell all your friends to and pester your local supermarket or shops to join the boycott.

Vanunu Freedom ride 2007
The 2nd Vanunu Freedom Ride sets off from Faslane in Scotland on 7th April 2007, calling for freedom and an end to the persecution of Mordechai Vanunu and protesting against Israel's nuclear weapons. It will arrive in Sheffield on Saturday 14th April. More information
The Peace Cycle 2006
Four supporters of Sheffield PSC took part in the first leg of the London to Jerusalem Peace Cycle ride this summer. The ride began with a rally at the Embankment Gardens on Sunday 6th August 2006 and cycled through ten European countries before the cyclists flew to the Middle East. The ride then continued through Syria and Jordan before reaching the Occupied West Bank.
Steve Pagden, one of the Sheffield cyclists, rejoined the ride in Jordan and cycled through the West Bank with 22 other cyclists. This website will shortly feature an account of the ride, what Steve saw and what he learnt. This will be the first of our 'Sheffield Voices', featuring the experiences of Sheffielders who have travelled to Palestine.
Stop Press ! We have just heard (February 2007) that, partly inspired by the 2006 Peace Cycle, 12 young men and women in the West Bank have just started the first ever Palestinian Cycling Club. The club was started through the enthusiasm of Mohammad Fayeq, a young Palestinian who cycled the whole way from London to Jerusalem with the Peace cycle.
