Free Gaza campaign
Musheir joins the Break the Siege boat to Gaza. Please help us to wish him a safe journey.
On 1st august Mushier will be setting off to join over 40 people from 14 different countries in Cyprus, preparing to sail to the port of Gaza in an attempt to break the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip. We will be meeting at this home, at 1.30 p.m. on Friday 1st August to present him with solidarity cards to give to our partner projects in the Gaza Strip. Please come along if you can - we hope to have the press there and we will have a documentary film make from the Free Gaza movement filming the event.
The boat is due to reach Gaza on around Friday the 8th August so we have provisionally planned a vigil outside Sheffield town hall, from 4.30 p.m. - 5.30 p.m. (which will either celebrate the boat's arrival, or protest if the boat has been impeded in any way.
Interview
Before setting off, Musheir gave an interview telling what the break the siege campaign means to him, what he feels are the possible outcomes and comparing Gaza as a child and now. You can listen to a playlist here or the tracks here: what it means to me, the three outcomes, Gaza then and now

Over the past week a number of candle-light vigils have been held in front of the town hall and Sheffield Rail Station; all have been well attended with people from a variety of diffferent groups. The vigils have generated wide interest and alerted Sheffield to the dreadful siege of Gaza and the atrocious conditions being inflicted upon 1.4 million civilians. Keep an eye on the events column to the right for announcements of further vigils.
In the same week we were given a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the ship that will break this siege
