Why Boycott?
In 2005, Palestinian civil society issued a call for a campaign of boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel until it complies with international law and Palestinian rights.
Here in Sheffield we are currently concentrating on the consumer boycott of Israeli goods and the cultural boycott calling on artists not to perform in Israel, and protesting against the presence in this country of Israeli of artists and institutions acting as cultural ambassadors of the Israeli state.
In Sheffield we are also part of the Boycott Israel Network, a grass roots network of activists seeking to develop BDS work in the UK and internationally.
