Consumer boycott campaign
Here in Sheffield we have a consumer boycott against the sale of all Israeli goods in our shops. This is in response to the international call by Palestinians for a boycott of Israeli goods. The call is for a complete boycott until Israel meets its obligation to recognise the Palestinian people's inalienable right to self determination, and fully complies with the precepts of International Law.
The co-op movement ....Sheffield PSC is part of a national campaign calling on the Co-operative to suspend all trade with companies involved in Israeli agricultural trade. We congratulate the Co-operative on having its Human rights and trade policy, but we call on them to follow this policy and suspend their trade with Israel, which supports the theft of land and water, and which decimates the Palestinian farming sector.
Please print off, sign and send off cards to the Co-operative head office, expressing your support for the campaign.

Get involved/Next action
We are continuing with boycott actions on the third Saturday of the month (from 11 am) to keep the case for Justice in Palestine in the public eye and also keep up the pressure for boycott of Israeli goods. On the third Saturday in April (23rd) we will be outside Sainsburys on the Moor, in the centre of town, between 11 and 12 am. Have a look at the 'Events' section for further details.
If you would like to get involved, and in particular if you would like to support our action/s this month, please email us: boycottisraeligoods@live.co.uk
There are many ways you can support the campaign from writing letters (to supermarket managers, your MPs etc.), helping with fund raising events, helping run our stalls etc.
What is the position of the different supermarkets? What goods should I look out for?
In our supermarkets the sorts of goods that we generally see from Israel are fresh fruit and vegetables, herbs and dates. You are likely to see more of these in the winter months. Look out for peppers, new potatoes, avocadoes, sweet potatoes, fresh herbs, oranges, grapefruits, figs and dates.
For further details see the BIG website.
