Sheffield Palestine Women’s Scholarship Fund 10th anniversary 2017

Celebrating 10 years of the Sheffield Palestine Women’s Scholarship Fund

  • We started in 2007 with just 3 students
  • We hope and expect to have raised a total of more than £100,000 by the end of our tenth year
  • More and more young Gazan women, who could never have afforded to study at university, are gaining an education in their chosen field.

In 2017 we will be celebrating the work of the Fund with a series of events starting with International Women’s Day, March 8th.

Inspiring and Uplifting. These two words were repeated by many of the people present at the Scholarship Fund’s 10th anniversary event in Sheffield Town Hall, marking International Women’s Day 2017.

The town hall reception room was packed to hear the stories of the students who have received scholarships since 2007. The stories are moving and full of hope despite the reality of life in Gaza.
